Her plans to remake a scintillating French flick have been doing the rounds for a while. Katrina Kaif, though, has set her starry heart on kickstarting a comedy, which will commence much before the French remake.

Reportedly, it's 'Benjamin Franklin', the 1980 comedy centred around Goldie Hawn as a spunky girl who opts to join the army.

Apart from turning producer, Kat aims to enact the role of a somewhat crazy character who charts her course in a man's world using her instincts to rise above gender politics.

Growing up in a family of female siblings, with just one brother for company, Kat says that going against the grain has always been part of her mental agenda.

"My brother would do all the fun things," says Kat in a tabloid chat, "While we girls were expected to play with dolls and only learn cooking. No way!"

Bending gender rules, comes rather easily to the svelte gal, who cites another instance to back up her claim.

"My director Prakash Jha and Ranbir told me that I couldn't play cricket in Bhopal," reveals Kat. "So I brought my own cricket gear and made my way in. Who says girls can't play cricket or join the army? I'm used to getting my way."
